Each sample edit will include the following:

  • Proposal with customized quotes

  • Manuscript markups: Manuscript markups are in-line comments that can cover observations, questions you might consider during revision, potential big-picture issues, and potential solutions.

  • Memo: A short memo is similar to a mini-editorial letter since it covers the strengths and areas that need work in your story.

The memo will also cover the following:

  • Does the story start in a compelling way?

  • Is there a strong hook?

  • Are there any drifting-off moments?

  • Does the audience get a sense of the main characters?

  • Insight on why the prologue isn’t working (if your story has one).

I always treat sample edits like mini-editorial letters, which can take between 3 - 10 business days, depending on my availability and complexity of the project.

What you’ll do:

  • Fill out the editor inquiry form and submit a payment for the sample edit

  • Fill out the Author Questionnaire Form I’ll send you after I receive the payment.

  • Send the first two chapters of your manuscript in a Word Document in the form or via email

  • Review the Proposal, sample edit, and Letter of Agreement
