This book coaching program is for writers feeling overwhelmed and insecure.

This customizable program is suitable for you if you connect with any of the following:

  • You’re scared of writing an imperfect story.

  • You’re having doubts at your ability to write a story people will love to read.

  • You’re overwhelmed with too many stories, and you can’t figure out which story to write.

  • You’re overwhelmed with no guidelines or structure to follow.

By the end of Gentle Voice program, you’re likely to have a manuscript ready for line editing or copyediting (I can refer you to excellent line editors and copyeditors).

  • "As a debut author, I was incredibly nervous going into the editing process and had no idea what to expect. Leila was not only understanding of that, but she walked me through everything step by step with such grace and clarity—it made all the difference. She was reassuring, professional, and kind, with clear communication and feedback that was both insightful and easy to understand. Her feedback has truly elevated my manuscript, giving me the confidence I needed to move forward in my publishing journey. What once felt overwhelming suddenly felt achievable.”

Book Coaching Package

Let’s dig into what this unique package entails:

✓ Establish Target Goals & Accountability Chats: First of all, we’ll set weekly and monthly word count goals. During our weekly check-ins, we’ll discuss any roadblocks or schedule issues that could hinder meeting your target goals. This will also include gentle accountability reminders to keep you consistent and on track.

✓ Weekly check-ins on Fridays: This will involve 30 - 60 minutes of email exchanges or voice messaging where we’ll discuss any roadblocks, wins, or anything related to your writing project. If there’s something hindering your ability to meet the assigned deadlines, it’s always a great idea to tackle them as early as possible. However, you also got to celebrate those wins, no matter how small.

✓ Unlimited Messaging: You’ll have one - three months’ worth of unlimited access to pick my brain for brainstorming ideas to navigating a scene via text chats with your choice of contact Discord, Slack, Voxer, or email.

✓ Manuscript coaching sessions: After meeting each targeted deadline, I’ll provide constructive feedback on a maximum of 4,000 words per month. These coaching sessions will help you revise other parts of your story.

✓ Full Developmental Edit: After you’ve completed writing your manuscript, I’ll provide a manuscript evaluation or full developmental edit (depending on your book coaching plan) on your manuscript. This will come with an editorial letter (15 - 24 pages) and manuscript markups. However, book maps only come with developmental edit packages.

✓ Free Access: You’ll have free access to my in-depth resource guide and educational content (including a blank scene outline) from the very start.

✓ Encouragement Calls: I’m an introvert, but that means I’m a great listener. So, if you just need someone to lift your spirits during your writing and editing process, I’m your gal.

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Scene Outline Critique(s)

  • Writer’s Block Prompts

  • Extra homework to help improve dialogue, showing instead of telling, characterization, research projects, and more.

Deliverables:

  • Critique Letters: 3 - 5+ mini manuscript critique letters

  • Manuscript Markups: Developmental edits will come with a thoroughly annotated manuscript with potential solutions included. Meanwhile, manuscript evaluations will include light manuscript markups that will only identify issues in the manuscript.

  • An Editorial Letter (15 - 24 pages): will cover the manuscript's main strengths and weaknesses.

  • Book Scene Map (Option only valid with a developmental edit): A book scene map breaks down what happens in each scene, but it also analyzes plot, cause-and-effect chain, sequence of scenes, characterization, and more. It can also help you figure out which scenes to rearrange to improve clarity and cohesion for your story.
